I apologize for hurting you. I wasn't prepared for the the stores on stores of clothes I'd fall head over heels for. I sincerely love everything I bought, I'm just sorry that you got hurt in the process.
Best,
Logan
So what did we do today? Shopped. It started innocently enough with the best free breakfast yet! I chose two pieces of whole wheat toast one with butter and marmalade and one with cheese and salami and an apple juice. Then went back for two toasty bread things one with a Nutella like spread and one with cheese and chorizo and another glass of apple juice. When I thought I was finished Paige shows up with fresh out of the oven Magdalenas aka sweet muffins! And I grabbed a huge orange on the way up to save for later. We ate this outside on the patio... Not too shabby! Next we set out for Las Ramblas. I was equipped with a money belt, camera and water and ready to fight anyone who tried to take my stuff (luckily I had no problems although we've heard story after story of other people having problems and it did limit the amount of pictures I took for my blog). We didn't make it far before we all decided to walk into Oysho. Everything in there was so cute. So cute it was a problem. All four of us had piles of things to take into the dressing room. I really focused on things that I wouldn't probably see in America and ended up with a cool pair of patterned pant that are really in here. They can be dressed up or down. Everyone ended up getting something in that store. We only made it two more shops before we all went in Bershka, which was like a forever 21, but European and cooler. I wanted to find a white cropped top to go with my high wasted navy pattern pants and boy did I come to the right place! There were like 5 different options, but I settled on the most simple option. I was feeling pretty good about my self restraint (and super inexpensive top) until I saw the shoes. They were perfect. A beautiful pair of low brown wedges! And for a good price! I'm so picky about my heels and these were actually a pair of relatively low and comfortable ones I thought were super attractive AND they would go perfectly with my outfit! I was so happy with my purchases and feeling content even in the other stores we walked in (but wait till after lunch). We walked by a beautiful plaza, which I unfortunately didn't take a picture of on my phone (iPhones have been the most stollen thing recently so I was nervous to take it out of my money belt). Then we went to the Mercat Boqueria for lunch. I LOVE markets! They always have the best stuff! Arin and I split a huge organic salad, paella, falafel, veggie, pasta salad, rice dish.
And followed it up with some fresh fruit!
Luckily the fruit was filling enough to distract me from things like this...
I'm waiting till Italy! Anyways we walked around a little more before we came across the Barcelona Cathedral.
Unfortunately, for my bank account, this cathedral was right next to another street of shopping. It had two Zaras, a VERY popular European clothing store that has started to make its way to the US, but is on literally EVERY corner of Barcelona. We finally went in and... Well... I knew from day 1 in London that I wanted to get a leather jacket between Paige's super stylish one and the fact that everyone is Europe looked super cool rocking one... I had been trying them on in a bunch of stores but I wasn't ready to commit to any of them until today... (Well not really because it was pleather and a lot cheaper than any real leather ones) but I tried on this jacket and it just felt right! After that I was shopping full! It was already getting late and we were ready to put of stuff down. I was really excited about my outfit (I've never really bought just a single full outfit in one day usually it's multiple separate pieces).
Pretty European right? Even the necklace was from London!
We all took a very short siesta and head out to La Rita for dinner. I am sad to say I didn't bring my phone so I don't have any pictures of the lovely food and drinks, but trust me it all looked just as good as it sounded. We split a very good priced and even better tasting liter of sangria and Pa amb tomaquet (the yummy tomato bread I mentioned earlier). I got the noodles fisherman style with shrimp and clams (we got the English menus so I'm sure it sounds cooler is Spanish. But it was brought out in a cool skillet and I ate every single bite (especially when I dipped the shrimp in the garlic aolie). My bank account and I were ready for bed (along with Paige), but my social friends Arin and Magdalena went out on a pub crawl with our hostel and didn't get back till 4:30am! They had such an awesome time and met so many people traveling from other countries. I'm excited to explore the night life with them the next night!
