Travel Day - Paris to Barcelona

Theoretically this post is just a continuation of the the last one because we didn't sleep, we napped. I think I turned out the lights at 2:20am and my alarm went off at 3:40am. Of course we couldn't take the metro because it was too early so we had to take an airport shuttle which was still more expensive because it was so early. We asked if a taxi would be cheaper, but they said it wouldn't be because we were paying the club rate (aka we were heading to the airport as Parisians were heading home from clubs. It was a very quite car ride to the airport then we proceeded to fall asleep on the couch like things at the airport. The flight went well and we were excited to meet up with Magdalena at the airport! It took a little maneuvering to get to her terminal from ours, but we found her. We caught a train (got a little turned around) and made it to our stop. We walked by La Pedrera, a Gaudi architecture creation, on our way to our hostel. This hostel is AMAZING!
It's decor is artistic and rustic... Yet modern. And the people who work here are so nice! The room is spacious and comfy and our bathroom is big, clean and fancy.
Not to mention we have a huge window with beautiful blue and yellow panes.
Can every place we stay look this good?? After a long day of traveling, a short night and a great suggestion we head out to Cerveseria Catalana for tapas. Lets put it this way... I ate the mushrooms it was so good! Every. Single. One. Here's a little look at what I got. (Sorry I started eating before I took pictures again...) Some jumbo calamari, fried hot green peppers and asparagus and mushrooms.
Finally a Catalan classic bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil, kinda like bruschetta without the chunks.
I also indulged in some Hagen daze ice cream (cookies and cream and dolce de leche of course). It really hit the spot especially before our siesta (yep I am definitely taking in the culture). It was crazy how empty the streets were and how many shops were closed because it was a Sunday! But we eventually rallied to go get a late dinner at La Nena.
My book has no let me down yet! It was so good!! This place is big on their chocolate and Arin ordered (and nicely shared) Spanish hot chocolate. It was like a melted dark chocolate bar!
I got there signature tofu burger with my days second helping of mushrooms! Crazy right?
I also ate 2 of my olives! But it was absolutely delicious. I felt warm and full but not overly stuffed. After that we all just took some time to relax, catch up on some sleep and get excited about our first full day in Barcelona!
