On the train again. There were three huge cruise ships parked in the port.
Sorry they are not as epic looking/ hard to see through the glass on a moving train... Anyways we decided to have lunch in Milan!
And by lunch in Milan I mean we had a layover and I grabbed a sandwich before jumping on our next train. But we had a compartment to ourselves and we felt like we were on the way to Hogwarts!! I didn't end up seeing Hogwarts, but we did get up in the mountains going in and out of tunnels.
It was a gorgeous trip along the coast, but I was to busy taking in the view to take pictures. Arin emailed the woman we are renting an apartment to ask how we get there and her reply was along the lines of, "Get off the train. You will have the sea in front of you. Walk to the sea and turn left..." She was right when you get off the train you're at the beach.
I'll take it! Arin did a great job finding this apartment. It can fit up to 6 (although the bunk beds look a little cramped but who am I to complain after being in hostels?).
I'm going to snag this little room with my own bed.
It's amazing how simple things become exciting... Like couches!
I haven't sat on a normal couch since I left! And the crown jewel of this apartment (other than location) is the kitchen!
(Although now that I've showered the tiled shower with a waterfall shower head is not to shabby either!) We plan on cooking our own meal tomorrow night! We went down to the beach and caught the last two hours of sunlight (and all passed out hard). We went to Belvedere for dinner. It was fantastic! I'd recommend it to anyone. It was good prices, big servings AND over looking the beach!
Those are my lovely dates! We split the homemade pesto (a specialty here) bruschetta
And a local Cinque Terre sparkling white wine.
Good company and great conversation.
I ordered the homemade black and white noodles with tomatoe sauce and mussels.
My favorite meal so far! Paige's pesto was a close second.
But then again Magdalena and Arin's mixed seafood was up there with the rest of them!
